Yogi Berra was known for his "yogi-isms". This Yogi baseball quote is one of my favorites. He was truly one of the last characters in baseball.

@Paul That's a beauty! I was a real estate agent on the North side for a while, and we used to go to Wrigley for the last 2 innings (free or close to it). That's a wonderful place to see a baseball game, intimate and right in the middle of a neighborhood with cafes, bars, theaters....the way baseball should be, if you ask me. THanks for posting.

This is, imho, a really great mix of how many different ways there are of defining this subject of Baseball thru the minds and eyes of artists.
I’m sure there are many more coming…….
I LOVE IT!

William Beck "Swish" Nicholson (December 11, 1914 – March 8, 1996) was a right fielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Philadelphia Athletics (1936), Chicago Cubs (1939–1948) and Philadelphia Phillies (1949–1953).

A native of Chestertown, Maryland, where he attended Washington College, he batted left-handed and threw right-handed.

Much appreciate all the images contributed so far.

Looking great! But I ‘m sure there are more to come, and I can’t wait to see them.

A restored film image of my father "Stump", converted to digital via scanning and touch painted through Photoshop using a "color burn" layer method. Stump eventually became known as "Mr. Baseball" around our Eastern Shore town as he brought each of his three boys and countless towns kids through various leagues of baseball including Little League, Pony League, and Babe Ruth League. Not only was he the hometown coach, but built and maintained the hometown field and transported the players in the back of his pickup truck for which he built a cover and benches to sit on.

In the stands of a local little-league baseball game I found my human-interest photo for the week... In the summer of 1963 - where exactly I can not remember (perhaps Levittown or Bristol Pa.). My mentor would shoot the action and I was tasked to find something of interest in the surround. Al Ziddock was a press photographer in those days and he took me under his wing each summer as I neared my teens....This one was published that summer - with a byline, lol.
